Vocal Editing & Tuning
Surgical precision for the human voice. We transform raw vocal recordings into polished, professional performances while preserving the natural emotion and character of the artist.
The difference between a demo and a commercial hit often lies in the details of the vocal performance. Even the most talented singers can have slight pitch instabilities or timing inconsistencies that, when left unaddressed, distract the listener from the song's emotional core. Our vocal editing service is designed to remove these technical distractions, providing a flawless foundation for the subsequent mixing process.
Based in Perth, Bambochezone provides a remote-first workflow that allows artists worldwide to send their raw takes for professional refinement. We do not believe in "over-tuning" that strips away the soul of a performance; instead, we apply a transparent approach to pitch and time correction, ensuring that the final result sounds natural, intentional, and radio-ready.
The Vocal Refinement Process
Audio Analysis
We begin by analyzing the raw takes to identify the most successful performances and pinpoint areas requiring correction in pitch or timing.
Surgical Cleaning
Removal of mouth clicks, pops, breath noise, and unwanted background artifacts to create a pristine, noise-free vocal track.
Pitch & Time Correction
Detailed manual tuning of every note and alignment of the vocal phrasing to the project's grid for perfect rhythmic cohesion.
Final Quality Check
A comprehensive review of the edited files to ensure the performance remains emotive and natural before delivery.
Who Is This Service For?
Vocal editing is essential for a wide range of creators. Independent singer-songwriters who record in home studios often face the challenge of imperfect takes. Pop and EDM producers require that "hyper-perfect" vocal sound where every note is locked to the scale and every syllable is perfectly timed. Hip-hop artists benefit from precise timing alignment to ensure their flow sits perfectly within the beat's pocket.
Additionally, we work with small labels and groups who have recorded high-quality audio but lack the time or specialized software required for the tedious process of manual pitch correction. Whether you need a subtle "invisible" tune or a more pronounced stylistic effect, our workflow is adaptable to your specific genre and artistic vision.
How the Workflow Operates
Our process is designed for efficiency and transparency. Once you book the session, you provide the raw vocal files via a secure cloud link. We work on the "dry" files—meaning without any effects—to ensure the tuning is as accurate as possible. We use industry-standard tools for manual graphic tuning, avoiding the robotic sound associated with automated pitch correction.
After the initial editing phase, we send you the processed files. According to our business rules, you have up to 3 rounds of revisions to ensure the tuning meets your expectations. If a specific phrase sounds too artificial or if you prefer a certain "imperfection" to remain for character, we adjust the tuning accordingly.
Client Preparation Requirements
To achieve high-quality results and avoid technical delays, clients must prepare their files according to our studio specifications. All vocal stems must be delivered at a sample rate of 44.1kHz or higher and a bit depth of 24-bit. This ensures that the audio contains enough resolution for the pitch-shifting algorithms to work without introducing digital artifacts.
Crucially, we require a headroom of at least -6dB on the peaks of your recordings. Audio that clips or is too hot cannot be tuned accurately. Please provide the files as separate mono tracks (lead, doubles, harmonies) and include a reference mix or a rough demo of the song so we can understand the intended phrasing and timing of the performance.
What You Receive on Delivery
Upon completion and final approval, you will receive a set of high-resolution WAV files (24-bit) containing the edited vocals. These files are delivered "dry"—without EQ, compression, or reverb—so they are ready to be dropped into your mixing session. Each file is clearly labelled (e.g., "Lead_Vocal_Tuned.wav") to maintain organization.
Along with the audio, we provide a brief technical report noting any significant changes made to the timing or pitch, which helps your mixing engineer understand the new dynamics of the track. All files are delivered via a secure download link, and we store your project files for 12 months in our archive for your convenience.
Turnaround and Timelines
Our standard turnaround for vocal editing is 5 business days from the moment the final files and deposit are received. This allows us the time to perform the manual, note-by-note editing required for a professional result. If your project is urgent, we offer a rush tariff which adds a 30% fee to the base price, reducing the delivery time to 48 hours.
Please note that the turnaround time starts only after the files have been verified for quality. If the files are delivered with clipping or in an unsupported format, we will contact you immediately to request a re-export, which may shift the delivery date.
What is NOT Included
It is important to distinguish between vocal editing and vocal mixing. This service covers the "corrective" phase: pitch, timing, and cleaning. It does NOT include the following:
- Adding effects like reverb, delay, or saturation.
- Compressing the vocal to sit in a mix.
- Full song mixing or stereo mastering.
- Ghost-singing or rewriting lyrics.
- Recording sessions at our Perth facility (unless booked separately).
For those requiring a complete finish, we recommend pairing this service with our Professional Mixing package.
Pricing and GST
Our pricing is transparent and based on the amount of work required per hour of raw audio or per session. In accordance with Australian law, all prices listed include the 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST). For B2B clients, we can provide invoices showing the amount excluding GST for tax reclamation purposes.
| Service Level | Price (inc GST) | Price (ex GST) | Unit |

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my voice sound like a robot?
Only if you want it to. We specialize in transparent tuning. We manually adjust the pitch and timing, which avoids the "robotic" artifacts often created by automatic pitch correction. We preserve the natural vibrato and nuances of your voice.
Do I need to send you the whole song?
Yes, please provide a rough demo or a reference track. We need to know the tempo and the intended melody to ensure the tuning is musically correct and the timing aligns with the rest of the instrumentation.
What happens if I'm not happy with the tuning?
We provide 3 rounds of revisions. You can specify exactly which sections feel "off" or too processed, and we will adjust the tuning until it sounds right to your ears.
Can you fix a recording that was clipped (distorted)?
While we have tools to mitigate some clipping, extreme distortion cannot be fully removed. This is why we request -6dB of headroom. We recommend recording at lower levels to ensure consistent tuning results.
